Young people wish to live in a clean environment, that natural need is the message of the drawings, photos and posters they submitted to the competition, said President János Áder to journalists after the awards ceremony of the SDG for Kids competition at the Budapest Water Summit.
János Áder emphasised that adults, older generations must listen to that request, that need, and that is the most important message of conferences and competitions of this kind. The Sustainability Week held in the spring of each year also focuses on that.
Before the press conference, János Áder presented a certificate of recognition to Eszter Kun, a student at the Móricz Zsigmond Secondary School in Szentendre, who had won the Stockholm Junior Water Prize. Eszter Kun told Hungarian news agency MTI that she had presented an agricultural production technology in the Swedish capital in which fish are ’used’ for
growing produce.
The president met the secondary and primary school students who had received awards in the SDG for Kids competition and viewed the entries for the contest.
He urged students who had submitted their work to continue working for environmental protection, the improvement and preservation of the purity of Hungarian waters and the development of their related knowledge in the future. Mónika Jetzin of the GWP Hungary Foundation, which had organised the competition, said that several hundred students had submitted their work to the SDG for Kids contest, where prizes were awarded in five categories, including posters, photos and films.

The filtering of pharmaceutical derivatives from water is a problem for almost the entire world.
