Coca-Cola has presented its first bottle made by recycling marine waste. At its test facility, it has so far produced 300 bottles that contain 25% plastic waste fished out the Mediterranean Sea.
In 2017, in the interest of sustainability and environmental protection Coca-Cola pledged to collect a can or bottle for every one that it sells, to make all of its packaging recyclable, and to make half the material in its plastic bottles from recycled plastic.
The soft-drinks firm has also issued new pledges for the Western European market, writes packagingeurope.com. They are working to discontinue the use of hard to recycle plastic packaging altogether and to stop using plastic secondary packaging: these measures will reduce the quantity of plastic waste by 11 thousand tonnes per year.
The filtering of pharmaceutical derivatives from water is a problem for almost the entire world.
